BATTLE OF FRIENDS – the BMW RR Cup 2023.
BATTLE OF FRIENDS – the BMW RR Cup 2023.
The BMW RR CUP is Germany’s most powerful one-make cup, contested on the BMW S 1000 RR and the BMW M 1000 RR. Any passionate rider can take part in the cup. Each rider must register for the cup, in order to be classified.
The season consists of six events – at the Rijeka, Nürburgring, Most, Brno, Assen and Schleiz racetracks – with each event featuring two races: a sprint lasting 12 minutes and one lap, and a main race over 17 minutes and one lap. There are two classifications: the overall classification (PRO), in which all registered riders score points, and a classification for hobby riders (ADVANCED), in which points are only awarded to riders who have not yet competed in a series of an equal or higher standard and have not finished on the podium. The technical regulations merely specify that the bike must be in racetrack-safe condition and that Bridgestone race tyres are used.

As of the 2023 season there will be a new one-make cup in the supporting programme of the British Superbike Championship (BSB): the BMW Motorrad F 900 R Cup.
The BMW Motorrad F 900 R Cup offers highly competitive and cost-effective racing for riders at national level. In the races that will be held on iconic racetracks on eight BSB weekends plus one round with WorldSBK, up to 40 riders will go head-to-head on identical motorbikes. The 105 hp F 900 R roadster bikes are available to purchase from any BMW Motorrad UK retailer. Each bike comes with a standardised package of race-focused enhancements. Riders with a Clubman ACU licence or above are eligible to participate.
